Executive Chef Culinary Development,
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
As Executive Chef, Leonard “Lenny” DeGeorge leads culinary development for the Food & Beverage Experience Planning and Integration division of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
“I’m always looking at the latest in the industry, about two to three years out,” says Chef Lenny. From quick service to fine dining, every precise element – kitchen design, menu planning, tableware and service technique – is the work of his team. At any given time, it’s common to have 100 or more ideas on the table for domestic Disney theme parks and resorts, which includes Disney Vacation Club properties in Hawaii, Hilton Head, and Vero Beach.
Some notable concepts developed byChef Lenny include the new D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs, Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom, and the renowned Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park. Now underway, Pandora and Star Wars-themed lands will provide Lenny with the backdrop for Disney’s newest and most anticipated dining experiences.
Chef Lenny started his Disney career in 1993 when he was recruited by Walt Disney World Resort to lead the culinary team at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. After two years, he opened the park’s catering department with responsibility for organizing and executing banquets for up to 4,000 guests.
